Do you know how many houses in Detroit you can buy for that much? CP!

Motor was recently rebuilt 2.7 V-6
Yeah there is your problem right there. Those 2.7's have a tendency to, not work for very long. I have a 2007 Chrysler 300, with the 3.5L motor, but it still shares a lot of the same parts, and let me tell you a lot of things can go wrong on this vehicle, but lets concentrate on these pictures.
Exhibit A: look at the top right corner of the hood, the gapping is off.
Exhibit B: Stock wheels in the rear, steelies in the front.
Exhibit C: Rebuilt title
My conclusion, there was a massive front end accident which prompted him to rebuild the engine and everything else, and realized he is in way over his head, these LX bodies can creep up on you and overwhelm you if you aren't careful. I bet you that he picked up this car at auction or something with the intention of flipping it, jokes on him, my most recent look at my 300's value, 11 grand, and steadily dropping. That's for a touring in perfect condition, I bet this car isn't even worth 3,500.
Sorry, rant over.

Eh. I'd rather have the Grand Prix in front of it. At least it'll likely have the million-year-old and easily repairable 3800. I'd run away from the 2.7 as fast as I could.

I remember back in the mid '00s I worked at a major parts store and we used to get a free industry magazine called engine builder which catered to machine shops and engine rebuilders. It once had a article about the 2.7 how they had a penchant for bending all the valves and what the theories were on what caused it. Ever since than I avoid anything with a 2.7 even if its a smoking deal.

2.7 was the rental motor IIRC. I don't know if I ever saw one privately ordered.

A isn't really a good tipoff. They all seem to be put together with hammers.

Just by itself, no, but every clue put together points to rebuild job, it looks half decent on the outside, too bad they wasted all their time with a 2.7

true on both points. My rear alignment trunk to fenders and the hood looks like the thing was built on a crooked frame stand...
